I really don't like that map graphic.

I don't either. Red is my least favorite color. Why couldn't Ohio be purple or something lovely like that?

The graphic came out after the 2nd Bush election...the distribution is a little bit better now.

At least I hoped it was, until this health care mess. Apparently we are number 37 in health care in the world.

I agree it is quite obnoxious, but it makes the division in the land between faith based reasoning and reasoning based on evidence. Actually, division would probably benefit the godless liberals, since funds flow from those areas to the other areas.

When did NY become part of Jesusland? I know upstate NY can be like that, but not the good ol' downstate.

Eru, still on news and media, from time to time you'll have heard me splutter and stamp my foot about the dumbing down of BBC TV. But have you cottoned on yet to BBC radio? Radio 3 and Radio 4 in particular are two of the crowning glories of British culture. I cannot praise them enough.
Would that TV could even begin to match their respect for the intelligence of their audience.

Ellienor is right Colorado and New Mexico were not in Jesusland this election. That said here in New Mexico we're situated right between Bush and McCain states.

Just don't look at the actual birth rate numbers or the cancer rate numbers or the heart care numbers or the aging health care numbers, cause well the liberal media has them all messed up anyway. Without Texas team Blue is guaranteed to win the presidency. Yet the thought of allowing Texas to leave is considered abhorrent.

Such an opinion might make sense to somebody who is solely concerned about achieving their own narrow political ends regardless of how it tears apart the nation. However, many of us without such motivations are still hung up on the idea of "one nation, indivisible" and that other stuff that goes along with being an American.

What is the point of your map, C_G? I see lots of color blocks, but no key. Am I supposed to just know what they mean (besides the red/blue/light red) by osmosis? Thanks for the unhelpful map.

I told you that some of us care about the nation and keeping it united and together. That is called being an American as opposed to being an libertarian or an anarchist or some weird combo of both or anything else where your narrow political goals come before the welfare of the American people. I do not have the slightest idea what that has to do with your foolish line that leads off this post. That is about patriotism - not power.

Again, you engage in tactics that require a complicated explanation just to be able to follow. But what else is new?
