:LMAO:

I love those descriptions. The INFJ definitely fits Mr. Wampus!

After a teambuilding exercise that included learning about MBTI, one of my co-workers came out complaining that he (like me) was an INFP. "What's that?" someone asked. His response: "As far as I can tell, it means 'mush-brained wimp.'"

:D

I am INTJ.

It looks like a lot of people misjudged the first time since the poll says the majority are INTJ. Only 1% of the population are INTJ according to the book(s). :)

Mine came out as ISTJ

scores of 44, 38, 12, 78

the only think I scored strongly in was Judging -- which is very true -- I find it easy to pass judgment about the actions of others. Of course, 33 years of teaching will do that to you.

I waited a bit and went back and took the test again since there were about a half dozen questions that could have gone either way the first time. So I changed some of my answers the second time.

results of the second attempt

ISTJ.......... again

so this must be right .....

I was figuring you for an ESFJ, sf. ISTF probably makes more sense now that I think about it.

The J is misnamed. J doesn't really have anything to do with judging.

to be frank, I was a bit surprised .... especially when I saw the idea that I could be an accountant or bean-counter --- I never considered myself as anything like that ..... but when I stop and think about it, I did work my way through four years of college auditing the books at a large motel and the easiest part of teaching that I just breezed through was the grading and record keeping tasks ......

a bit of me is hurt because I always considered myself a bit more creative and imaginative .... guess I was fooling myself..... :(

Don't get hung up on that. People are a good deal more complicated than MBTI gives 'em credit for. Your type will tell you a lot of things, including what you tend to be good at, but it doesn't mean you can't excel at things not normally outside your type. Just because SJs tend to make good accountants doesn't mean they can't also make good artists. For example, SPs are supposed to be the "warriors", the physical athletic types. However, we have three NTs here (Riverthalos, LM, & Wolfgang) who enjoy and do well in the martial arts. MBTI can only tell you so much.

NAH, it is more likely that the minority types (the strong IN) are more likely to find appeal in posting on MBs. You note a rather smaller percentage here of both E and S, which as types often find it far more engaging to be involved directly with people face to face or in a crowd and be hands on literally about their activites respectively.

If anything I am an XNXJ. Every time I have been given a Myers-Briggs test I score within 3% of midline for both introversion/extroversion and thinking/feeling. I usually score about 8-10% from midline towards intuitive and the same towards judgemental. I am just not significantly anything and always attempt to be balanced.

Hmmmmm..... does this mean I fail the personality test? :/

What Watcher said! *nods vigorously*

SF, it does not surprise me that you are of the "Guardian" temperment. They are often school teachers, and tend to lend stability to any group by resisting the new ideas of people who want to change society.

That's not a bad thing. I think part of why B77 melts down so fast, so far, so frequently, is the relative scarcity of Guardian and Artisan temperment people to lend stability.

The first time I took MBTI and tested INFP, I realized that I was in a job that required lots of interaction with many people (not exactly an I strength), intense detail work (not exactly N, and I tested off-the-chart N), logical analysis of complex issues (definitely more T than F) and six deadlines per day (not a P specialty).

The thing was, I was good at what I did. I had gained the skills I needed. It definitely took more energy, though, to work against type.

Lord_M, having got to know myself a little better (that is, observed with a view to personality type) could you change me from INTJ to INTP? I think it reflects my type better - though I do flip to J on occasion.
