Jny, is there anyway we can vote a bit earlier?
I may not be around tomorrow, and that time is a bit late for me usually.
Would it be possible to vote maybe 9-10 EST?

So voting commences between 5 and 6 a.m. Greenwich time on Thursday, 17 March, and ends at the same time on Friday, 18 March (or as soon as we can all be arsed to get our ballots posted in this thread, if that's sooner). :) Thanks, Jn.

Thanks everybody for explaining about IRV! :) Especially Faramond - examples work best! :D
In my simplicity I'd just have taken "A" to be the winner. :)

Let's do it like this, then - I'm just glad I don't have to do the counting. ;)

(Is there an automated way of counting maybe - I mean, one of those Excel formulas that lidless writes, maybe? It seems to me this way of counting takes a lot of concentration, and might therefore a bit more error-prone than just counting who gets the most "ayes"?)

(Oh, and could I slap lidless, too, please? ;) :D )

TH - I will definitely do my counting in an Exel program. For an economist I can't add or subtract worth doggie doo-doo and I always have a calculator at my elbow.

Holby - Let me do the following: the wait is to give everyone a chance to see the ballot and object if necessary. Let me go ahead and paste the ballot into the first or second post of this thread.

You go ahead and vote - but put at the top: Early Ballot, and the time signature (GMT preferred if you can figure it out)

Then we know that if an objection to the ballot arises we have to check whether it affects your vote. If it affects your vote, you'll have to vote again. Good?

Jn

The Ballot now appears in the second post of this thread

That works for me Jny. I can wait until later tonight though just to give it as much time as possible.

V, I can't send a PM to all users, but the Admins can.
I do suggest everyone here take a look at the experimental board.
It gives you some insight as to what is going on behind the scenes.

Griff -

Could you please review your ballot. In Question #1 and Question #3 the same choice appears twice and one choice is missing.

Thank you. :)

Alandriel -

I am making a hard copy, but don't know how to make a macintosh spread sheet go through email. I don't think you'll be able to open it as an attachment.

Meanwhile anyone else who wants to keep the tally is welcome to do so.
