And there was an actual scientific study about libertarian morality. Understanding Libertarian Morality: They Psychological Roots of an Individualist Ideology Libertarians are an increasingly vocal ideological group in U.S. politics, yet they are understudied compared to liberals and conservatives. ...

I did it. And I finished 4 days early. So I had the beginning all planned out, and I had the ending all planned out, but I didn't have anything in the middle. At about 12,000 words I started to panic, because I'd run out of beginning. At about 40,000 I realized I could finally wind things up, and I ...

I'm doing it again this year and it is actually going great. I'm 2 days ahead, now I'm 200 words shy of being 3 days ahead. My biggest problem was figuring out a way for one villain's evil plot to work. Actually the biggest problem is that I had figured out both the beginning and the end of the stor...

Well, this is an interesting twist. I won my election. Just not the one I originally stated. Vison, Voronwe, and Yovargas have all seen the election results. I'm now official a councilman. California won't know what hit it. Well, at my low level there isn't much I can do about the state's problems. ...

The TSA. They've finally gone too far. Actually they went too far a long time ago, but finally the rest of the public thinks they've gone too far. For almost their entire existence they've wanted to implement electronic strip searches of the traveling public. The traveling public pushed back, saying...

The Democratic Party won't let the Republican Party die. If they did, a party with different beliefs from the Republical-Democratic Party might replace it. In order to maintain the illusion the'll even have change over from one party ruling to the other party ruling. If it looks like the Republican...

I predict in 2012 Obama will get re-elected...the Dems will win back the house. Why do I say such things... Recent history...unless Boehner handles it differently than Newt...which I don't predict will happen. That's interesting. I read on another forum a counter-analysis. The suggestion is that th...

PhD profesional economist Robert Murphy of the Von Mises Institue has launched an interesting debate challenge to Paul Krugman. He is gathering pledges that will go to feed the homeless. If Krugman accepts the debate, he gets to enjoy libertarian money go where it often goes but he thinks it never g...

I did find an article recently about someone who actually did plan on harming this country's leadership.

NY man charged with planning to kill former President George W. Bush

I can't find much info on his background.

Apparently they think the right to vote is no longer the most viable option. It is true that, for example, a majority of the US population opposes the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but that the candidates of both parties support those wars. Even changing the majority party in 2006 and 2008 didn't c...

Hmmm, Not sure I see what the fuss is about. He isn't advocating it as the right thing to do. He says it is on the table but not as the first option. He didn't say this was an option without being pressed to address the specific issue either which leads me to believe it is not something he is focus...

I don't doubt that you've seen a woman try to trade her child for more heroin, but have you seen a woman try to trade her child for alcohol? But to say that the reason people stay away from drugs is because of their illegality is short sighted. That didn't keep people away from alcohol during the fi...

It is true that, in pretty uncommon instances, people have stolen money to get alcohol or tobacco, but the statistics on that show it to be very rare. There was a time when the crime involved in alcohol reached uncommonly high levels, and it was during prohibition. One of the reasons there is so muc...
