There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs. - John Rogers
Female drummers are still coolest, but I am liking these teeny bad-asses too.
Cuz I just watched it again yesterday...
EDIT: wow, speaking of Scott Pilgrim and eerily mature children, I just watched this:
I was a somewhat intelligent movie geek by about 14 years of age, but I could never keep up with the rapid exchanges and enthusiasm this kid has at 11. At least my personal taste was and still is light years ahead, as I don't agree with a single thing he said about the movie above, and his review of Inception is hilariously dismissive.

He is quick and comes off as erudite and all but he needs to cut down on the gesturing. Also, I loved Scot Pilgrim vs the World. It was quirky and fun. And the girl drummer was hot.

Mostly I was just tickled by the audio used lol. There are probably more appropriate themes, but it makes me feel like I'm on an adventure. Or that the girl thinks she is partaking in some heroic mission. Which is how a lot of young women take their pre-shindig routines, I'll bet.
