I do, however, see the IP Blocker that he mentioned earlier in the chat (and that he used to block the attack) in the Security section of the cPanel. In theory I could block IP addresses that I spot of bots that are "guests". What I don't know how to do is to "check the logs" to determine who is attacking if the site is down.

For instance, there are currently 87 guests online at HoF (compared to only 16 here). That number doesn't seem to be a problem, but if it gets into the hundreds, I think that is where the problems occur.

The good news is that if there is another attack, even if I can't figure out how to block the right IP addresses I know now that I can go on the chat and tell them to do it.

ETA: I think I found where on the cPanel I can see the IP addresses of the current visitors.

Well, that's good news! I guess that's the way to do it in the future.

Maybe you can ask for clarification about what CloudFlare is?

Let's see if Al know before I ask them. Meanwhile, as I said in my edit, I did find on the cPanel where the visitors are listed, so I might be able to address an attack myself.

Could be off base, but it sounds like they're suggesting you make CloudFlare responsible for handling requests for the domain name thehalloffire.net. It would then use its magic algorithms to either decide a request is legit (and forward it along to InMotion), or a DDoS bot (and block it). That said, even if that's correct, I don't have any idea how one would go about setting it up.
