Wow. It looks really good. It's heavily saturated, which makes it look almost more like a painting or pastels or something.

Very nice, yovi!! You have quite a talent. BTW, what IS that in the drawing that is above the leaf sketch? I quite like that one as well.

Thanks, TW. :) If you do a google image search for "magnolia fruit" you'll see what it is I drew.

This is Timmy, the Monkey--my first attempt at amigurumi.

I've seen stuffed animals before, but this is the first time I've heard the word "amigurumi"!

So, is this a new career path?

Uh, no. I'm not very good at it, and it's rather tedious. I suspect my last foray into the craft will be the hamster I promised to make for Katie. It might be a little easier than the monkey because it doesn't have the skinny arms, legs, and tail. It does, however, have a beret.

I did see a really cute dragon, though...

Check this out:

It's not a photograph, it's a pencil drawing by Diego Fazio. Amazing. :Q

If so, that's absolutely amazing!

Music is creative, right?

I wrote this last year, for college, and it was premiered last May. If you like dance suites with a post-romantic twist, then this is for you I guess.

OMG - is it really nearly 5 years since I updated on that cross stitch????

If anyone could give two hoots whether I actually finished it or not, well, the answer is YES, finally!
[ img ] (clickie)

I completed the main design last Autumn. I'd already decided not to bother with the ribbon effect border, but to use a mount to "frame" the design instead. And, uhm...it's still not been framed yet, but perhaps I will spend some birthday money and get it done by Easter! I need to spend some time checking the beads to make sure they are tight enough to lay in place before I take it to the framers.

Oh, lovely!!! :) It turned out very pretty.

I was going to ask you if those were beads or French knots. Then I read the last bit of your post.

Way to go! I know how nice it feels to finish a project.

Oh, that's lovely! And I'm so glad it's not the Disney version.

Thanks! (and to Lali, too) and I share your sentiments - my S-I-L has a massive Disney Cinderella collection and it's rather given me an aversion....

I found an adorable free mitten pattern with sheep on them and thought other knitters might be interested. I used pure llama wool on the inside and they're incredibly warm and soft. Just watch the thumb gusset if you're substituting yarn - I had to change the number of rows and stitches or the thumb opening would have ended up too low.
