TheMary, I have no idea what you meant by your cryptic comment, so if you want it to hit its mark, you'll have to explain further.

I believe both Prim and I were commenting that there was no need to suspend the current committee proceedings just because there is talk of having another committee proceeding in the near future for another purpose.

We can't just chuck it out right now. We need some kind of order, and though the charter has many flaws it still better than....well I'm not even gonna finish that sentence because I'm not a good liar.

If we as a board are going to start over we have to be in agreement.

But not universal agreement, just a majority agreement.

I'm a little confused.

If you do mean the committee, I am not responsible for this current committee, it was convened under the Extraordinary Circumstances provision of the Charter.

If you mean, what happens if the Charter is voted out? Well, we'll have to wait and see, won't we?

As far as me being one of the original drafters of the Charter, I participated in part of the convention proceedings. I wasn't here at the beginning of b77. The Charter was in its second session before I joined the committee, and I didn't stay on the committee for the last session.

Why would the current committee die because of a possible future committee? Finish up.

I can only imagine how vexing some of this may have been for Ax but I hope he reconsiders. He is enormously useful and focussed in committee.

Because TED, Ax jumped ship for good reason I'm sure. It's upsetting, and I hate to say it because it's not fair to him but he was my focus. He really has his shit together and it makes me really sad that he had to go.

ADD: No Cerin I don't mean if the charter dies, but the BR committee don't worry about it. I appreicate your effort to answer my question.

Soooooooooooo wrong. If I were to put a poll and by next week 100 people had voted that they didn't care about the Charter, you would still think Charter procedures would need to be followed? If you do, then I'm afraid that it looks like some sort of madness has overcome some of you.

yovargas, if you wish to put up a poll with some effect, it would have to be by following the proper procedure for having a binding vote.

I apologize to everyone for creating a new thread but I am unable to edit Ax's posts in Jury Room so a new thread was required to keep the proposed amendments up to date. We are now attempting to finalize the proposed amendments wordings for public deliberation. I hope to be able to bring them to discussion before the weekend is out and hope anyone still a member of the committee throws in their two cents to the completion of this particular project.

Well Iavas, if a group of you wants to usurp authority on an ostensibly democratically governed messageboard and declare the Charter null and void and yourselves in control, I'm not sure what can be done about it. I guess we'll see, won't we?
