I must admit, it wasn't fair of me to call it a soap, since I've never actually seen a 'daytime drama'! :D

Since you all assure me this is an atypical episode, I'll give it another try next week. :) I learned my lesson with Bab 5!

Current ep spoilers ahead. (what ARE we doing about aired eps here anyway?)

There were so many jawdropping moments in that ep that I was exhausted by the end. This one, and the first Locke ep, are my two favorites so far. Terry O'Quinn RULES, dude!! :D Totally felt his rage and frustration. One reason I love this show- there were multiple opportunities to explain Locke's paralysis, and at the end of the hour. We. Still. Don't. Know. Heh.

Looks like Boone was the sacrificial lamb. Sure looks like he's also going to be the survivor that dies this season, but they may still surprise us there.

Things I loved- Sawyer's glasses- black and white again
Locke's dream- Whoa! shivers thinking about it
The radio call- "There were no survivors of Flight 815"
Oh, and the footballs in aisles 8 and 15. Neat.

This island is like a venus flytrap for aircraft and boats.

Hee- re-reading this post and thinking that someone who hasn't seen the show would be vewy cornfoosed.

Watched Eyes premiere later, and wasn't too excited.

More current episode spoilers.

Northerner, you definitely caught things I missed. Aisles 8 and 15? :Q

Locke is definitely the mystery man. I kept thinking "oh, so THIS is how he got paralyzed ... no ... oh, THIS is ... no."

When he carried Boone into camp and Jack asked what happened, I was waiting for Locke to say "He was in a plane crash." :D But no ... not a word about what really happened. Why is Locke being so secretive about the hatch?

So many times this episode took my breath away...

Spoilery....

Wow, just wow. They really know how to turn on the "freaky" switch at a moments notice. The only problem I had with the episode is that it was difficult to determine Locke's age in the flashbacks compared to his current age. He just didn't look different enough. Obvoiusly some serious time has passed, as he's learned to be an "outdoorsman," and it's been at least 4 years, as that's how long he was paralyzed.

Boy I want to know what happened when he first saw the "monster." Obviously he's made a connection with the island, and they sci-fi aspects are linked directly to him and Walt. Probably why they got along so well, so quickly.

I wouldn't be surprised if Boone makes it, possibly paralyzed. The Locke becoming paralyzed again, and then getting his legs back has me baffled. There's so many different ways they could go with it. It could have been his confidence in himself. It could have been the island punishing him for not getting to that other plane, or it could be a karma type thing... someone has to be paralyzed, so if not Lock, then Boone...

At this point I'm wondering if the final episode or two is going to have flashbacks from multiple characters, or if we're goign to still have all these mysteries going into next year...

The Board just ate my post!!!! :rage:

Oh well, I will try to redo it.

Last night was one of the best epis yet!!!

Does anyone else get the idea that Boone is a big red herring? I think JJ and Damon are too tricksy to just let that story arc play out to its obvious conclusion, I think we are being set up! Also, Locke is now officially in the camp with Walt in terms of being special, that vision he had of Boone with "Theresa" was just plain creepy!!

And, I am confused here. What did Boone hear on that transmission?

SPOILER:
Quote:
Here's a transcript of the sequence with captions that I copied from the fusilage.com:

***(radio Static)
***Plane shakes
Locke: Boone! Boone, Get out!
Boone: Hello. Hello. Anybody out there? Mayday, Mayday!
Locke: Boone, there's no time. Get out now!
Radio: Is someone there?
Boone: Hello! Hello!
***(Radio Static)
Boone: Can you hear me?
Radio: Repeat your transmission please.
Boone: Hello, We're survivors of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. Please copy!
Locke: Boone, get out!
Radio: Hello...
Locke: Get out now!
Radio: There were no survivors of Oceanic 815.
***Plane falls from tree

However, others claim that the final line received from the radio was "We are the survivors of Oceanic 815."
This show just messes with my mind way too much! :Q :Q :Q

Anyone want to bet there's something about the island which may save Boone? Maybe the capsule Locke got a look into?

Thanks so much for that transcript info! Either last line is creepy enough for me.

And I have to add too that Sawyer's glasses were a total high point for me. I hate to use the term cute but...c'mon, how cute was Sayid making those ridiculous things, and Jack getting to wind Sawyer up about his V.D.? Very very nice.

Locke's flashback story was difficult to watch. I knew where it was going very early on and oh, so painful to see it play out.

Sayid is ALWAYS cute. :D Nice of them to work him in there.

And the glasses gave Sawyer a Johnny Depp-like look, I thought. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Oh, did anyone else think of the really, really obvious future plot twist revealed in this episode? What Boone found isn't exactly what Charlie was addicted to (or was it?) but that's one Hell of a tempting lead...

I think Charlie was addicted to the Heroine. I would be interested if that turned into an issue...

I thought it was heroin that they found on the plane?

So, mebbe young Locke decides he's going to take revenge on evil Dad, and learns all these survival skills and weapons knowledge and he manages to kill dad (to add to the people on the island that have killed someone), but he is badly wounded and ends up paralyzed. :Q How's that for wild speculation? :D

When they found the heroin on the plane my kids all groaned. It's pretty clear where that's going, and it won't be good for Charlie--probably our family favorite. :bawl:

Yes, and yes.

Prim, your kids read plots too well...tell them to sit back and enjoy the show sometimes ;)

Guru, my kids all love to write stories, so they think that way without trying. And me, too, for the same reason. It's like a disease. ;)

ttbk, it's very good, but a tad addictive. And you'd need to read up on/watch the past episodes to get caught up, otherwise I'd imagine you'd be rather confused.

But yes, do watch!

(if you have fast internet I can IM you the first..14 episodes...)

Regarding the drugs on the plane. . . yes, they're there. But that doesn't mean that Locke is going to tell Charlie. He could very well hide/destroy them. I don't think he went through all that trouble to get Charlie to quit just to give him a whole new supply. And for that matter, Charlie himself may be able to resist tempation. Now that he's quit, he may realise that it's not worth it go to back. Perhaps this is Charlie's test.

TTBK, it's really, really addictive. But that's be/c it's so good! You should definitely watch it. :D
(Rebecca, I don't suppose you could send *me* a few episodes? I still haven't seen . . . In Translation OR Numbers!)
