That's 8, including Jude (who hasn't replied here but obviously posts regularly). The Rangers, Lali, Jude and I, want to open a dialogue about the long term viability of B77. Its getting less and less use, and even the prospect of a new Silmarillion based TV Series (who thought we'd ever see that) hasn't brought back any of our past members.

We have just renewed the site for another year, but we have to ask the question whether there's any future for the site past that. Most or all of us are members of Hall of Fire, and we could easily transfer most of the discussion here to a single thread on HoF. I understand that there was a time when HoF was much more strictly policed than here and people wanted the freedom to post as they wished, but I feel like that perceived "heavy-handedness" is almost entirely gone now. So, what say you?

My vote would be to keep the site going, at least for the foreseeable future. We have a lot of history here, and it would be sad to see that disappear.

I enjoy this board and will probably continue posting here and and off as long as it remains open (and I remain able). But I also bear none of the costs for keeping it that way, so weight my vote accordingly.

It's still possible some of the wanderers could wander back in once the show is released.

I am interested in keeping it more for the sake of the past than the future. There's a lot of history on this board.

Guess I'm easy either way, though I've only been posting on here for a long time now. Most of you know I have a different user name on HoF.

I post in both places, but I would be sad to lose this place. For one thing, there's no equivalent on HoF for ToE. No one posts there often, but it's very nice to have that option when needed.

If it's becoming cumbersome for you to host the site, Al, what are some other options?

And we probably could clean up/condense the fora.

Another point to consider: when HoF is down, or being offline during an upgrade, how else do we keep everyone informed of the issue, or the progress of the upgrade?

I think we could certainly look at condensing some fora, but it won't affect hosting. I'm happy to keep hosting indefinitely unless something changes with my provider.
